BUas FM students shine at IFMA World Workplace after winning prestigious challenges and scholarships.

BUas Facility Management alumni, a student and lecturer Pleun van Deurssen recently returned from IFMA World Workplace in Minneapolis, and their journey there proves one thing: saying yes to challenges during their studies opened doors they never imagined.
Alumna Jenna de Natris attended the world's largest FM event after winning a scholarship from the Airport Facilities Council. "I would never have known about this opportunity without my teacher, Wil Gooskens," she shares. The week was transformative, filled with meetings with facility leaders, invaluable advice, and friendships that strengthened her commitment to the profession.
Eva Leydekkers earned her trip by winning the FMN Student Bachelor Award with her thesis. "An inspiring experience filled with engaging sessions and the chance to connect with passionate professionals from around the world," she reflects on the event that brought together FM experts globally.
Sophie Hokke joined them after winning a student challenge, while Vera van der Loo hosted the recorded TEDx Room, showcasing BUas talent on an international stage.
Lecturer Pleun van Deurssen was impressed by the American focus on renovation and real estate optimization, reminding everyone that while wellbeing matters, buildings still need expert management. She emphasized creativity's vital role in FM and discussed the future of FM education with the IFMA Foundation.
