In March, BUas had the pleasure of welcoming over 130 companies to campus for our Industry Network Event, bringing together the worlds of education and industry in a truly meaningful way. Professionals from Hotel & Facility, Tourism, Leisure & Events, and Creative Business connected with our students, staff, and a large group of BUas alumni, to discuss work placements, graduation projects and career opportunities.
The presence of so many alumni added an extra special dimension to the day, showing current students what their future paths can look like and strengthening the connection within the BUas community.
The atmosphere throughout the day was vibrant and energetic. From the moment the doors opened, stands were buzzing, conversations flowed easily, and students confidently stepped into their first real networking experiences.
More than just networking
What made this edition especially valuable was its diversity. With five BUas programmes (also Tourism, Leisure & Events and Creative Business) represented, students and professionals moved across disciplines, sparking unexpected conversations and new connections.
It was equally inspiring to see BUas lecturers and staff actively engaging with companies – exploring opportunities for guest lectures, research collaborations, and student projects. This underlined what the event is truly about: strengthening the entire BUas community.
A popular addition this year was the portrait photography station, where many students took the opportunity to update their LinkedIn profiles. This may seem a small thing, but it will have a big impact on their professional journey.
